Our Inventory Procedures

Inventory procedures begin immediately upon arrival to your location. During triage of the site, Home Design works with you in identifying the items requiring attention. Both written and digital documentation (with time stamp) of all items are provided to you. This documentation provides proof of damage, ownership, and transfer to Home Design. In all cases this service is necessary for you to substantiate your claim with Insurance providers.

The packing process of the items being transported is in accordance with industry approved standards. The standards and regulatory practices Home Design adheres to are set by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certificate (IICRC), The Restoration Industry Association (RIA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Upon arrival to our secured, climate controlled facility, the entirety of your belongings are kept isolated  as, one by one, they are decontaminated as needed from biological or chemical toxic (and non-toxic) hazards present because of the event. This mitigation procedure ensures no further degradation will occur.

After decontamination, contents are then moved to your designated and secured storage section where they are monitored with around the clock surveillance.

Contents are then evaluated by our restoration experts who will populate a repair vs replacement report for you and your insurance carrier. This report will be a key to your budgetary considerations, thus expediting the final resolution of your claim. Items approved for restoration are logged out of your secured area and immediately logged into the restoration section. Once restored, the logging process is reversed.

When you are ready to receive your items back, Home Design’s set-back crew will set your contents back into place. We will schedule delivery at your convenience (within a three day lead time).
